I put vitamin c powder in my hair and it got on my skin?

I put a mixture of vitamin c powder and conditioner in my hair overnight (it fades hair dye) and on dry hair the day before but after I woke up with the vitamin c powder in my hair and went to wash it off, I noticed behind my ear, near my hairline, and on the back of my neck, I had developed peeling, dry, red, itchy, burning skin. I’ve used an antibiotic cream on all areas and although it helped my ears and my hairline somewhat, it did not help the back of my neck. My neck feels really stiff. Why did this happen to my skin and should I see the doctor?
My scalp didn’t get affected surprisingly.

sounds like you burned your skin. vitamin c is acidic. rinse it gently, dab with clean towel to dry then apply some sort of protectant on it. i would personally use bag balm or olive oil or even carmex. don’t pick or scrub it. keep it out of sunlight or tanning beds. if you ever have to do this again rub vaseline on neck and ears to keep the C off ur skin and do it during the daytime so you will notice it burning. hows ur scalp?
