I am 60 yr old female back in school to retrain for the job market. Before taking TRANSMAX~500mg, I had difficulties juggling all the immunology, math, chemistry, etc classes. TRANSMAX has definitely helped me to focus and ace those classes. Also, my joints are not so stiff. But it has not helped my husband. So, I suppose that its effects may vary from person to person. Does anyone know what the difference between this and the bio-forte transmax that costs $14. 00 less. Both say they are 500 mg of trans resveratrol and 60 count bottle

This is an excellent brand of resveratrol. I, only, take one a day, but I, strongly, suggest taking 500 mg. I believe that it has been the chief deterrent for the herpes on my neck. I have been taking it for over a year, and I haven’t had an out-break since I started. That is wonderful!!!

As you probably are aware, Resveratrol–an antioxidant–is currently being touted coast to coast and, indeed, around the world as a miracle anti-aging agent offering benefits ranging from increased energy and stamina to healthier skin, improved eyesight, even the healing of bodily diseases. Numerous testimonials on various websites praise it to the skies. It was enough to pique my interest. In doing due diligence on this product I was led to Biotivia, the company putting out the particular brand of Resveratrol reviewed here. From what I’ve been able to ascertain, Biotivia is the most well-respected, reputable, and consumer-reports validated supplement company for this product. So I decided to try it out, buying two bottles. However, to increase objectivity I shared the bottles with a friend, so that we could both observe any positive effects.

First we took the recommended (on the bottle) one capsule daily for about three weeks. We noticed no positive effects whatsover. Next, we increased our dosage to two capsules daily, and continued for about another three weeks. Still no positive effects. Finally, in near-desperation we increased our dosage to three capsules daily and continued this until we ran out–about two weeks more. Still no effects.

It was a fairly expensive experiment in futility, and I frankly am disgusted. If money were no object I would probably increase my dosage to four and continue it for about six months or so, just to give it one last chance. However, all claims about this product indicate that less than that extreme dosage, for far less time, is required to experience amazing results. As it was, my friend and I experienced nothing. What’s more, after we stopped taking it (about two weeks ago), we noticed absolutely no difference–i. e. , decrease–in our energy levels.

FYI, my friend and I are in our late thirties, tall, healthy and active, but looking for that extra boost. So is it possible that the purported anti-aging benefits show up more strongly–or at all–only in the elderly and/or infirm? Yes, it’s possible. Still, caveat emptor!
